About

Jason MacKenzie, chef and co-owner of Bohemian Pizza in Litchfield, CT, grew up locally in nearby Bantam. MacKenzie entered the restaurant business at the age of fourteen when he began working for the original owner of the restaurant. He continued his interest in the culinary arts in high school and went on to study at the Connecticut Culinary Institute (Now Lincoln Culinary). After working in fine dining, MacKenzie made the switch back to his roots when he became the co-owner of Bohemian in 2005 with his business partner, Gary Copeland.

MacKenzie has been the catalyst for Bohemian Pizza to be showcased in numerous publications including the Republican American, Connecticut Magazine and The New York Times. He continues to focus on bringing a witty, down-to-earth and sometimes unexpected experience combined with a variety of food that appeals to a gamut of palates and appetites.

In his free time, MacKenzie spends time with his wife and 2 year old son and is looking forward to the arrival of their baby girl in late spring.
